2020 US Open Social Justice Feature
The shooting of Jacob Blake in the summer of 2020 sparked a series of walkouts by professional athletes around the country. In a show of solidarity Naomi Osaka used her platform at The U.S. Open to raise awareness for social injustice in America by wearing masks with the names of seven victims of police brutality.
This piece showcases a collection of U.S. Open athletes sharing their thoughts on 2020 and the state of social justice in America at that time.
